A staffing supplier that is majority-owned and operationally controlled by a diverse person(s). Diversity categories include women, racial/ethic minorities, disabled persons, LGBTQ-identified persons, veterans. Diversity suppliers must typically be certified by one or more private certifying agencies to qualify as “diverse” for purposes of customer categorization. Certifying agencies include the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and numerous other private organizations. Federal government certification is an entirely separate process with separate designations from those of private certifying organizations.
