Dallas-based workforce solutions provider Pinnacle Group is thrilled to announce today that it will be the new title sponsor of the World Affairs Council (Council) of Dallas/Fort Worth’s annual Academic WorldQuest competition. For the next five years, the North Texas competition will be known as the “Pinnacle Group Academic WorldQuest.”
Academic WorldQuest is an annual competition that tests advanced high school students on a variety of global topics, such as current international politics, geography, global economics, history, and world cultures. The Pinnacle-sponsored regional event typically hosts over 90 teams from 70 schools across North Texas, which compete to go on to the national competition in Washington D.C., where past prizes have been laptops, international trips, and study abroad funds.
North Texas has historically been one of the most successful regions in the country, with the local winner going on to win nationals for seven of the past nine years.
“Pinnacle Group is incredibly honored to be a sponsor of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth’s Academic WorldQuest competition,” said Nina Vaca, Chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Group. “Supporting education and our local community are top priorities for both myself and Pinnacle, so it’s a pleasure to partner with organizations like the Council which share our passion for helping area students grow into the next generation of global leaders.”
James N. Falk, President and CEO of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, added: “The goal of Academic WorldQuest is to educate young leaders about the world and encourage their involvement in international relations – an important mission that is shared with equal fervor by our new regional sponsor, Pinnacle Group, and its fearless leader Nina Vaca, who I am pleased to call a colleague and a friend.”
Vaca, a respected civic leader and philanthropist with more than 15 years of international relations experience, was also recently elected to the Council on Foreign Relations.
